I wont remember you every day, But I promise I won't forget you. I don't know what you mean to me, Or what I mean to you. The good times of the past, I know have never last. And today as I find my good times with somebody new, I don't know what you mean to me, Or what I mean to you. We promised to stay in touch And to be fair, we did as much But now, beyond courtesy, we rarely make through. I don't know what you mean to me, Or what I mean to you. There were times, I thought I could never let you go. Times when I cried because it had to be so. I won't cry no more at biding adieu. I don't know what you mean to me, Or what I mean to you. I know you would recite the same song. At a different place now where you belong. You do believe when I say its true You don't know what you mean to me, Or what I mean to you.

Where do you see yourselves 10 years down the line?

I have to ask myself this question. My career path would take me down to a place I am afraid I don't want to go. Because I see people who are there and I don't want to be like them. Here are the profiles I am afraid of being in: The Sales guy - I don't want to be the smooth talker who just believes in selling by hook or by crook. He is the one who would convince the client that they ought to do business with us and that we can develop projects for them in any domain, any technology. He is the one who makes the clients believe in our abilities when he himself believes in us the least. The Higher Manager - I don't want to be the talker who watches baseball games or news just so that he has something of common interest to talk with the clients and not because he loves baseball or the news. Someone who commits to building projects in unrealistic time without even knowing the names of technologies or the complexity of the project or even consulting the people who would act...

If Steve would have beaten me up…

It was the day I was returning back to India from Bethpage, NY after my short onsite stint of a month. I had called for my Yellow Cab to go to the JFK airport. I was just whiling away my time sitting on a bench outside my hotel. The weather was chill and I was enjoying my last few moments in Bethpage. The cab arrived on time and to my surprise it wasn’t the regular sized cab; it was a van. I think they expected someone with a lot of luggage. My one large suitcase, a cabin bag and a laptop was equivalent to a lot of luggage for me for sure. The driver was in his 50s may be and seemed friendly. His name was Steve. He asked me where I was from. He wanted to know whether everyone in India knows English. He asked me how long I had been in U.S. and where did I work. I answered him and told him about my client and the application I was working for. Steve as it turned out was a very satisfied customer of my client (a telecom service provider in U.S.).
